I am a man who loves and reveres the diversity in my species and I am especially grateful for our potential to love and forgive. I have some friends who, ironically, find some of my flaws entertaining. In fact I have a foggy memory of someone who once actually used the adjective “charming” about one of my weird quirks. So yes, as I think about the endless variety of our physical differences in addition to the infinite variety of information, memories, beliefs, and conclusions percolating in our brains, how can I not prostrate myself in reverent joy and ecstatic wonder before the universe that gave birth to us? Hallelujah for the wondrous diversity of our political beliefs, religions, shapes, colors, cultures, esthetics, and sexual affinities. And hallelujah, especially, for what makes us laugh and what fills us with love! So please hear me my brothers and sisters. Let us shout, with joy and laughter, “Bring on our diversity! Bring it on!” Let us shout these words from deep in our hearts with respect, with gratitude, and with wonder! Yes brothers and sisters, please celebrate with me and with joyous wonder as we dance with the infinite colors of our beliefs and the infinite variety of our bodies that pulse with the music of our love. Let us kneel before each other with wide open arms. Please join me in singing, “BRING IT ON!”
